From Rev. Beth

Thank You!

Thanks to everyone who prepared for and participated in our Mardi Gras (well, actually Monday Gras) celebration! We all hope that Paulette White’s jambalaya and muffuletta and David Dinkins’ bread pudding will become  long-standing traditions at Grace. They were delicious! And, thanks to Peggy DeLaughter, Jackie Mockbee, and Lynn Crocker for the delightful table decorations. It was so much fun to all be together!

Bishop’s Bible Study

Bishop Wells is teaching an online bible study on Genesis, In the Image and Likeness: God’s People, As We Are on Thursdays during Lent at 4:00. You can register by emailing nward@dioms.org.

Parish Luncheon

Our next parish luncheon will be on April 6. Since we had our Mardi Gras celebration this week, we decided not to have a March parish luncheon.

Small Church Collaborative

Grace Church will host the Small Church Collaborative Gathering on March 21 and 22. Last year’s meeting was a source of information and encouragement for all of us who were there, and I hope many of our members will plan to attend this year. You can sign up by emailing me at bfoose5@gmail.com.

Lenten Devotional Booklets are Available

If you enjoyed The Living Compass Advent devotional books we used, then you no doubt will enjoy having Living Well Through Lent 2025: Cultivating the Fruit of the Spirit In Heart, Soul, Strength, and Mind as a guide for your Lenten journey.

I discovered yesterday that there is a podcast to accompany the readings. You can find it at Living Compass Spirituality and Wellness.

If you haven’t already taken a look, I encourage you to take a look at the Living Compass website, where you will find many other resources, among them a guide for Faith and Wellness Circles. If you have any interest in forming a circle at Grace Church, please let me know.

 Mayoral Brown Bag Lunch

On Wednesday, March 12, we will host the Canton mayoral candidates for lunch and conversation, beginning at noon. Please bring your questions and your lunch. We will supply iced tea and dessert.

Citizen

We will begin our discussion of Citizen on March 19 at 11:00. We will gather in the parlor and on Zoom. For those who wish to join by Zoom the link is

CareNotes

We updated the CareNotes rack with several new Lenten offerings, including How the Grace of Confession Can Change Your Life, and A Lenten Journey through Grief. Please take a look at what is available when you are at the church, and feel free to take any pamphlets that might be of help to you or your family, friends, or neighbors. The CareNotes are meant to be shared, and they are a wonderful way to let folks know that you care.
